FOR INSTRUCTORS, BY INSTRUCTORS.

Carol Abohatab, RYT Certified, MFA, BS
Executive Committee, Founding Member
Carol Abohatab brings over four decades of performing, teaching, and choreographing to the Color Guard arena, training and choreographing for the Santa Clara Vanguard Winter Guard for its 11-year tenure, as well as Bluecoats Indoor, San José Raiders World Guard, Emerald Marquis, and State Street Review. She’s also had the privilege to work with many other color guards, some of which include Northview, Arcadia, Mission Viejo, Chino, Leigh, and Miamisburg High Schools, and currently consults with Fantasia.
Color Guard prompted her to further explore dance, earning a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Performance, Choreography, and Kinesiology. She currently teaches Modern, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Choreography, Improvisation, Repertory, and Yoga at San José City College, as well as running the Dance Team. She is a RYT200 Certified Yoga Instructor, currently working toward 500 hours. Carol served on the WGI Steering Committee from 2009 to 2023, and has published a dance training video set available on wgi.org. In 2023 she had the honor of being inducted into the WGI Hall of Fame.
